When cooking, vegetables, they can leave a distinct odour around the home. A piece of red pepper added to broccoli will help as will a bay leaf added to cauliflower, sprouts, or cabbage.

Fish leaves a smell in the kitchen. To reduce this put a bowl of white vinegar next to the cooker

Baking soda can be used to absorb the smells from bins. Just shake a little into the bottom of a bin liner before it is used to ensure it is odour-free.
